Colton Parish Council has 7 members. Elections are held every 4 years. 6 of the current members were elected in May 2007 and 1 was co-opted by the Council in October 2007.
The Council usually meets on the second Thursday of the month (except in August) at 7.00 pm in the Village Hall (subject to change). All meetings are open to the general public and at the start of each meeting time is allowed for members of the public to raise any matters they have a concern about. Members of the public can stay for as short or as long a time as they wish. Confirmation of the date and time of meetings will be found on the Village Diary page
The next meeting of the Council will take place in the Village Hall on Thursday 12th June at 7:00 p.m. All members of the public are entitled to attend. The public section for this meeting has been extended to incorporate a second Public Forum meeting to discuss planning and development in Colton and the neighbouring area. Planning officers from Lichfield and Cannock Chase District Councils will be in attendance.
What are the views of the residents of Colton regarding planning?
How can we make our voices heard when local authorities are deciding on planning policy?
If you are interested in the future of Colton please come along.
We want to know what you think.
We want you to know what other residents think.
We want you to know what you can do to influence matters.
Once planning policy has been decided by the local authorities then individual planning applications are assessed against that policy regardless of local opinions and requirements.
Therefore it is important that opinions and requirements are taken into account as part of the policy setting procedure.
Please come along to share your thoughts and to find out how you can influence the decision making process and the future of Colton.
Planning Applications are received from Lichfield District Council for our comments. Their site contains planning application details and also information about the Planning Applications process.
If you cannot attend a Parish Council meeting but wish to express an opinion or raise a matter you can do so by sending an e-mail to Charlotte Chambers, Clerk to the Council or contacting any of the Councillors listed on The Council page on this site.
